Birthday Deer Card No Electricity Needed

Deer Birthday card for my Dear Brother

So the birthday came and went…but did not get a card to my dear brother. Like I posted earlier, we were born on his 4th birthday. What day every year sharing my birthday. I loved it. I missed seeing him this year cause of Covid. Praying I can see him in the Spring.

This is a simple card to make, truly fun and easy. When you have the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine. Love this little cut and emboss machine. Compact and no electricity needed. You lay the die on the plate, sandwich between the plate and roll through…the press does all the cutting. Yes, it is manual but accurate and you can take it outside to the picnic table, the porch and camping. Sadly, now like many with no electricity you can use it and enjoy as long as you have light to see.

First you die cut a circle, than make the base. The base is crumb cake, 8-1/2″ by 4-1/4″. Score at 4-1/4″ to get a 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ base folded.

I next glue the die cut circle to the center of the base. Note: Only glue the lower half. What I do is put the base over a actual A2 card, which is 4/1/4″ x 5-1/2″ folded. I give it the eye to center. The pink above is a A2 card, I lay my base and Circle over. As shown below, only glue the lower portion of the card.

Lay circle dye cut over and let dry.

Now the fun begins, take a clear block, ink up with pad or marker, than spritz with water….you are watercoloring. You had to have water soluable markers and inks, that is why l like Stampin’ Up! ink pads. Also, non toxic. Easy to clean with water.

The above is using blue on top and green on bottom. Ok, the deer is fussy cut…oh my, fussy cut. Simple From Natures Beauty stamp set.

My go to deer Stamp from Nature’s Beauty Stamp set.

I wanted Crumb Cake Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock…well, My Stampin’ Pad was dry so I went to Early Expresso. I have a new Crumb cake ink bad on order and a refill. Now, if I had a refill, I would not need to order another. Tip: Order a Ink pad and refill at same time, you will not regret. I ordered another ink pad cause the style changed a few years ago, love the new style. Yep, I use Crumb Cake on many cards and projects along with Navy…my go to colors.

So I went to my go to sets, yes, these are used over and over. They give a watercolor look, the look I love. Snow Front has trees, Deer, Mountains and water, grass….use with many other sets.

These are how I keep my sets, in a little crate I pick up at dollar store or thrift store. Needless to say the passed year I have been no where, these are items I had….thank goodness.

My favorite set…use with so many other sets.

I added some trees in Tranquil Tied…a color no longer available. Yes, every two years new colors come and go…yes they are called the in colors. The basics stay but to jazz up things a bit, new colors come. So when you find something you like and use, get back ups. I did not on this color and truly missed out. Cause once they retire they can not be ordered. Same with stamp sets, they come and go. Sooo….if you like this set, by end of May 2021, it may have retired.

OK, now. I should have done the white circle on its own and stamped. Yes, I did this wrong…but hey. Do you see the blue blop by the pine tree, well I stamped over it, to try to make it better.

Added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the deer. Yes, you can cut them to fit. This makes the deer stand out more.

Next, I showcased my dies to see the right size, to cut white cardstock to cover my ink blobs…yep, no mistake, just a designer creativity…

The cardstock comes out nice…..these are stitched dies that are again used over and over.

I added the dimesionals to the back of both these stitched die cuts to give more dimension.

Ok….have fun…. enjoy and share. Have a great day giving. Create Joy, Give Joy.

Birthday Banana Bread

Yes, the birthday is here and it is snow and cold. I had bananas calling to me…

It is a hard day for me, I am a twin….my twin passed in 2014, yes, 7th birthday without her…she was 56 and passed from brain bleed/stroke…a very heartbreaking day. The joy is we were born on my brothers 4th birday. yes, true. So we did the birthday call thing this morning.

Simple to make and tastes so good. During the past year like many….this has been made alot at our house.

Nothing fancy but easy to make

Mash the Bananas, Yes, 3 eggs, put dry ingredients and and stir together. I add cinnamon..love cinnamon

It looks mushy and heavy but tastes good. Sooooo I have no fancy kitchen, it does not matter, You will love my baking cupboard.

Yes, a dishwasher now a baking center for over a year now…it works. I wash all my dishes by hand cause it helps my arthritis

Also the past year has been hard on my family ….it is just my husband and me. He was forced into early retirement and I already have ongoing health issues, so our income is limited. Life is that way…..

So enjoy the banana Bread….Also, I did get a Car battery for a Birthday gift, that little battery for a 2001 Chevy Malibu was over $180.00 yikes, my husband put it in…….it is cold here, so it zaps everything. The car battery was pass due, so had to be done.

My adventure for the day…..card making is going on but thought you would love what I did today.

Valentine II

Yes, this is one I did do in my old blog and was deleted when I switch to another blog host.

Simple Card, just you basic 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 card base, with scoring at 4-1/4″.

The white is card layer One which is basic white cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″. I cut alot of these to have ready and on hand

This technique is called stencil …just like any stencil. The heart is from a die cut layed out on the card and sponge daub with a dauber all the way around…one color…slick technique you will use again and again.

I am posting this cause I love this set and most likely after June 2021 it will not be around anymore. I use the dies for many different cards from Birthdays to weddings.

The stamp set is called Meant to Be, a go to set that I use over and over.

The matching dies are used for so many occassions, like I said before, it is my go to set.

If you notice, you do not need the stamp set….you can use the die set on its own….so cool.

Valentine’s Day

Where did you get that stamp? I get that alot on my creations. It is old, real old from the 90’s. Yikes, that is old. The company that made it is no longer in business. The heart background is also punched from a punch from many years ago…eek. Why do you hang on to them? Cause I like them and use them. If crafting days together come back, after Covid, they will come in handy.

Do you hang onto oldie but goodies. I do have an issue..space/room. I have so much, doing this for so long, I need to thin out. In the mean time will enjoy and use.

If you need to add to you creating, the below sets or known bundles are here now but may be gone in June 2021? I love them, they are on my dream list, but right now, I need ink more than more stamp sets. I would like the dies. Oh Yes, dies…back to the Cut and emboss machine, will get back to that in the coming days.

Happy Thanksgiving

Rejoicing in thankfullness. Yes, even in these trying times. Our family has faced much, but our new life is pressing on. I pray this finds you fine and doing what you love.

I made a Thanksgiving card for special people in my life. I used old stamps, yep, real old, 1995 and 1996. Companies that are no longer in business.

I did use the Stampin’ Up! ink, love their colors and ink, it is easy to clean off with just water…water soluable. Safe, non-toxic.

Cinnamon Cider is the color I used, it its a limited ink color for 2020-2022, it is my favorite right now with intense brown but not dark. I did a water color wash on water color paper…simple but gives a nice look.

I am card making and sending but as for sales and Stampin’ Up! products, they are dead in the water. I no longer have my store to order on line, they charge $12.95 a month and I have had no sales in the passed 8 months. That would be $155.00 for a year, a waste of money cause no one orders and we have no income right now. I will continue on and if you are interested in ordering you need to contact my by email. My heart aches that life changes but it could be worse.

Hugs. Enjoy this special time, no matter what.

Betty

Tuesday…Sunny Day

Happy to be here…Loooong week last week. So long, thought it would never end. The news of our country truly played on me. I am so sad of what is going on. All I can say is VOTE. This is not about politics, this is about right and wrong. My heart aches for so many. We have been hit hard here in our household, yes, we press on. I know everyone is different but making cards, sewing and cooking are my godsend. I am blessed with a dog and several cats, they truly give unending love.
