Thanks for checking on me…..yes, I am still paper crafting and sewing. My joints and body are happy dancing now that the humidity is gone. I am busy cleaning basement when I can cause after 30 years here in the same local, it has to much stuff…. My body is failing so my time clock is racing.
I am taking this time to be STILL, yes, still…creating and enjoying my garden, long walks with my dog and creating in the kitchen. My coop up feelings have gone away by enjoying what I have….not what I don’t have. I am creating cards and sending them to friends and family…so thankful.
The card is simple, just Red Cherry Cobble paper with stamped with Black ink… I make alot of these to have on hand. I use them for birthday cards, thinking of you, etc.

I have not been here since May 4…Now June 29. I have been making masks and more masks plus card making. My husband has been home and life have changed greatly. No work, no money but lots of time. Yes, have to look at life differently. I have been blessed making masks, it it helps others and people are wanting them and they cover the cost of making them.
Ok, you may not like University of Michigan…I love them. They saved my life with surgery back in 2016. Yes, I love them too cause of my niece, she graduated from U of M in 2019. I never had the opportunity to go, now that I am in my 60’s, I treasure she had the opportunity. Her Mom, my twin, never had much help in going to college, the importance…..her Mom knew how important. My twin had a stroke and passed away in 2014, two weeks before her daughter was to graduate from High school. She graduated with honors and had many scholorships to go to U of M. She graduated May 5, 2019, five years to the date of her Mom’s passing. This made the date May 5, a happy memory vs. a sad day. Life goes on, never the same.
Now, the year 2020, a pandemic…..My niece is in New York, New York. I have been a nervous basket case. Now, things are looking better….My niece is looking for work, praying she gets what is good and a fit for her hard college work.
So life goes on. What have you been doing? Yes, card making but so much more….. lots of cooking, baking and washing dishes….and that is life. Staying home and being safe. Thanks for reading and if you would like to know more about my love of Stampin’ Up, come back…will try to inject more info and help and not be so laid back.
Yes, still here. Just life has made a curve…. I have been busy making masks and more masks. Thought I would take a break. Here in Michigan we are number three with Coronavirus, I am on the west side of state and it is bad here…though we have very few tests. Sadly there are more ill than they can report.
I made these tags today on my Facebook Live. I know I am not here all the time but I am so involved in so many projects, I am not bored. I am blessed with a dog and several cats.
Here in Michigan we love Tulips. Not far from our home is a yearly event called Tulip Time. Thousands of people attend every year. Not this year, sadly. 91 years in the making, no Tulip Time this year cause of the Corona Virus. It had to be done, people come from all over the world to attend and we need to stop the spread.
Look Up Holland, Michigan Tulip Time. Many amazing photos. I never get tired of Tulips.
My anxiety level was through the roof yesterday. I was in such a tizzy. I have not felt that way in years. I usually can keep it under control. My husband even said “you aren’t going to wig out on me are you”. He knows I am ok but like all do not like the lies of our President. I worked for 3 weeks on our limited income to prepare. I did not listen to him, he said it was a hoax. I watched the news about Italy and my heart broke with all the deaths in mass quanity. With my health issues, age 62 and all, I am now in the house and in place. I walk the dog now 3 or 4 times a day…he loves it.

The virus has hit Michigan. Yes, two confirmed cases on east side of state in Detroit. I am on the west side of state but like all, need to take precautions. I especially. I am over 60, have health issues and especially auto immune issues. Life is changing.
Like many, my shopping has changed in the last couple weeks. I am into bread baking, making good meals with simple ingredients and like many others, staying close to home.
So, what do you do when you are home sweet home all the time. You clean, tidy and than create. Yes, I am working on cards. Simple cards, some more involved. A little of everything.
I love giving gift cards and/or money as gifts. I found this fun way to make a gift card holder.
You can use Designer Series Paper (use double sided for a fun look) or make your own. Yes, make your own with your stamps. You can practice stamping designs, color combinations and it is just fun and creative. Very relaxing. You will use those stamps you have always wanted to use but did not know how to make for a card…this is beyond the card.
You begin with a 12″ by 12″ piece of paper. You will stamp both sides in colors you choose, I used Timeless Tulips stamp set from Stampin’ Up!. Pear Pizzaz was used in green stems, the pink I used was Blushing Bride. This stamp set has a matching punch.
Positive Thoughts stamp set, has a beautiful Fern that Used. This set has matching dies, I did not use the dies in this project. Check back again, you will see them later.
Measurements: 8-5/8″ x 9-7/8″ for paper. I cut with a paper cutter.
The long (Tall) way, fold this in half. You than will bring the bottom up to fold line and the top to the fold line…. You have four sections. Burnish well with bone folder.
Open up, fold in corners as shown in video.
You than fold in the end to meet in the middle
Now we are going to flip this over (see video) and bring up the ends at the points.
than have both end folded up. Keeping sides straight when folding over
We than are taking the ends and bending them into each other.
I know it is basic but many get upset with 1/8th of inch in paper crafting. Don’t get discouraged.
Yes, I know, life is not all even Inch, half inch or 1/4 of an inch. Those pesky 1/8’s throw people off but don’t be.
Simple lesson today. I will be showing something with 1/8’s and I have before. I have found many do not like them, but hey, we can use them to create more… Today’s facebook live with show something that has them so don’t miss out. I try to have Facebook Friday every week at 1:00pm Eastern time (Michigan). OK. Not set in stone but if I miss I do a video later. Life Happens.
