So the birthday came and went…but did not get a card to my dear brother. Like I posted earlier, we were born on his 4th birthday. What day every year sharing my birthday. I loved it. I missed seeing him this year cause of Covid. Praying I can see him in the Spring.
This is a simple card to make, truly fun and easy. When you have the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine. Love this little cut and emboss machine. Compact and no electricity needed. You lay the die on the plate, sandwich between the plate and roll through…the press does all the cutting. Yes, it is manual but accurate and you can take it outside to the picnic table, the porch and camping. Sadly, now like many with no electricity you can use it and enjoy as long as you have light to see.
First you die cut a circle, than make the base. The base is crumb cake, 8-1/2″ by 4-1/4″. Score at 4-1/4″ to get a 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ base folded.
I next glue the die cut circle to the center of the base. Note: Only glue the lower half. What I do is put the base over a actual A2 card, which is 4/1/4″ x 5-1/2″ folded. I give it the eye to center. The pink above is a A2 card, I lay my base and Circle over. As shown below, only glue the lower portion of the card.
Lay circle dye cut over and let dry.
Now the fun begins, take a clear block, ink up with pad or marker, than spritz with water….you are watercoloring. You had to have water soluable markers and inks, that is why l like Stampin’ Up! ink pads. Also, non toxic. Easy to clean with water.
The above is using blue on top and green on bottom. Ok, the deer is fussy cut…oh my, fussy cut. Simple From Natures Beauty stamp set.
My go to deer Stamp from Nature’s Beauty Stamp set.
I wanted Crumb Cake Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock…well, My Stampin’ Pad was dry so I went to Early Expresso. I have a new Crumb cake ink bad on order and a refill. Now, if I had a refill, I would not need to order another. Tip: Order a Ink pad and refill at same time, you will not regret. I ordered another ink pad cause the style changed a few years ago, love the new style. Yep, I use Crumb Cake on many cards and projects along with Navy…my go to colors.
So I went to my go to sets, yes, these are used over and over. They give a watercolor look, the look I love. Snow Front has trees, Deer, Mountains and water, grass….use with many other sets.
These are how I keep my sets, in a little crate I pick up at dollar store or thrift store. Needless to say the passed year I have been no where, these are items I had….thank goodness.
I added some trees in Tranquil Tied…a color no longer available. Yes, every two years new colors come and go…yes they are called the in colors. The basics stay but to jazz up things a bit, new colors come. So when you find something you like and use, get back ups. I did not on this color and truly missed out. Cause once they retire they can not be ordered. Same with stamp sets, they come and go. Sooo….if you like this set, by end of May 2021, it may have retired.
OK, now. I should have done the white circle on its own and stamped. Yes, I did this wrong…but hey. Do you see the blue blop by the pine tree, well I stamped over it, to try to make it better.
Added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the deer. Yes, you can cut them to fit. This makes the deer stand out more.
Next, I showcased my dies to see the right size, to cut white cardstock to cover my ink blobs…yep, no mistake, just a designer creativity…
The cardstock comes out nice…..these are stitched dies that are again used over and over.
I added the dimesionals to the back of both these stitched die cuts to give more dimension.
Ok….have fun…. enjoy and share. Have a great day giving. Create Joy, Give Joy.Product List
